Gilan's Story

Gilan’s story began in the 18th century in a village in Kosovo, with a grandmother who sewed custom-made garments for Ottoman Pashas. Always faithful to their artisan roots, brothers Muharrem and Ferhan Geylan found their passion for luxury blossoming in 1980 in a tiny jewellery shop. They later moved to Istanbul, where Gilan grew into a renowned luxury jewellery house, and there they began creating extraordinary and rare pieces for the strong, independent women of the 21st century.

As the family’s design heritage blended with inspiring reflections of world cultures and the unique splendour of Istanbul, the doors of a brand-new world opened. And so Gilan became one of the world’s most distinguished designers and creators of jewellery and works of art.

From the patented cutting of carefully selected precious stones to their transformation into the enchanting, magical designs that give ‘Gilan’ its meaning, the two brothers are involved in every stage of the making, driven by one endless passion: to create unique jewellery and works of art that will last for generations.
